Another cool morning with mist over the lake, which cleared by nine into another bright sunny day.
Lots of work going on in the garden at the moment with all the beds being cut back and weeded. Two truckloads of composted cow manure have been delivered and the team are all busy making sure that all the beds are fully covered with this black gold. All the vegetable beds have been turned over and composted and we have now planted all the herbs and salad beds to see us through the spring season. Poinsettias, Chrysanthemums and Bougainvilleas are all in full bloom and the garden looks truly magnificent, with big slashes of red, gold, purple and yellow.
Saw the resident Monitor Lizard in the garden busily digging something up. Have a feeling that this will be the last time we see her until March as the nights are starting to get chilly. It is definitely about time she slipped into that deep burrow under the termite mound for the winter.
Black Redstart, Indian Robin, Rufous Treepie, Blue Capped Rock Thrush, Blue Whistling Thrush and Jungle Babblers all are having a great time sifting through the compost for grubs and insects.
